Review TMNT II – The Secret of The Ooze

The Secret of The Ooze is the sequel to the first TMNT movie was released in 1991 and was directed by Michael Pressman. This movie featured two completely new mutants Tokka and Rahzar and put them up against the turtles. This movie also took a step away from the darken tones that the first film had. More sound effects, comedy and brightly lit scenes seem to flow through this film to give it a nice overall presentation.

This film also seen the departure from some of the original cast members. Michelan Sisti returns however in this movie but he takes on the role of Michaelangelo, Leif Tilden is Donatello, Kenn Scott as Raphael, and Mark Caso as Leonardo. The voices were also switched up with Mikey voiced by Robbie Rist and Brian Tochi (Leo) as the only turtles returning in the sequel. Laurie Faso (Raphael), and Adam Carl (Donnie) came on board as well as Paige Turco also replacing Hoag as April O'Neil. Kevin Clash also reprised his role as Splinter.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of The Ooze holds a special place in my heart as a great TMNT film. Pick it up or check it out when it's on t.v. every once in a while. I mean, it’s worth it just for Vanilla Ice’s Ninja Rap!
